The EU has warned about the risks of traveling to Moscow on May 9

Trips by foreign delegations to Moscow for the May 9 celebrations will have political consequences, said the head of the European Union diplomatic service Kaja Kallas at a press conference following the meeting of the EU foreign ministers. She placed particular emphasis on the EU candidate countries, which are recommended to exclude participation in events in Russia.

Many ministers have said that the EU takes seriously the trips to Moscow for the May 9 celebrations – they will have consequences. We have made this clear to them , Kallas stressed .

The head of the EU diplomatic service also called for as many trips as possible to Ukraine, in order, as she claims, to demonstrate support for Kyiv. According to Kallas, it is desirable to accompany the visits with specific promises of military aid.

Earlier, the leader of the party “A Just Russia – For Truth” Sergei Mironov explained how the West is trying to discredit Victory Day . In his opinion, this date symbolizes the victory over Western ideology, which its elites still profess, and Russophobes in the ruling circles cannot accept the memory of the feat of the Soviet people. Mironov drew a parallel between Nazi ideology and the colonial past of the West, emphasizing that those who for centuries considered Russians “second-class people” especially hate May 9.
