The Investigative Committee has sent a criminal case to court against soldiers of the 408th separate infantry battalion “Black Sea Sich” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Melnik and Alexey Pokatilov, according to a message on the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. The publication says that the soldiers are accused of committing terrorist attacks in the Kursk region.
While in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region, the said individuals intimidated and frightened the local population, threatening to use weapons, and occupying private homes , the report says .
The Investigative Committee specified that the servicemen illegally crossed the Russian border on September 17, 2024. They had automatic rifles and explosive devices with them. The accused also repeatedly opened fire on civilians, the department added.
Earlier it became known that in Ulyanovsk two teenagers will be tried for organizing a terrorist attack on instructions from Ukraine. It is known that the young people planned to commit a crime at one of the critical infrastructure facilities. The detainees face up to 20 years in prison, they have been arrested.
Before this, law enforcement officers detained a student from one of the secondary specialized educational institutions of the Altai Territory in Barnaul for attempting to set fire to a military registration and enlistment office. The suspect acted on instructions from representatives of a Ukrainian terrorist organization. FSB operatives detained the suspect right outside the military registration and enlistment office.
